We Earthlings: Microplastics In Your Tea?

Research from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona revealed that brewing tea with plastic tea bags can release millions to billions of microplastic particles into your cup. For instance, polypropylene tea bags may shed approximately 1.2 billion particles per milliliter, each about 137 nanometers in size. Cellulose and nylon-6 tea bags release millions of these tiny particles, too. Make a healthier choice: To minimize microplastic exposure, steep loose tea leaves in a stainless steel tea infuser. This simple switch not only enhances your tea experience but also supports your health and the environment.
